The Heart Behind Hinterland Igloo
This space was built from the ground up with care – spacious, open, and full of warmth. It’s not a tiny cabin or a quirky side project. Designed at the maximum size for a secondary dwelling, it offers an airy, expansive feel from the moment you step inside, with a soaring ceiling that enhances the sense of calm.
We created it to be the kind of place we would want to stay in ourselves – not just comfortable, but genuinely restful. Tucked into the garden and surrounded by trees, it feels peaceful and a little bit magical, especially when the lights catch the canopy at night.
Whether you’re here with someone special or just need time on your own, we hope you find what you need here – space to breathe, room to rest, and a stay that leaves you lighter than when you arrived.

There’s so much to see just beyond the garden gate.
If you feel like heading out, you’re in a perfect spot. Montville, Mapleton, and Maleny are all nearby, each with their own charm. You can spend a morning wandering through shops, stopping for a coffee, or taking in the view from a lookout.
Or maybe it’s a day for a walk in the bush. There are waterfalls to find, trails to explore, and plenty of quiet places to stop and breathe it all in.
